Job Summary
Under direction of the immediate supervisor, the Lab Technician I participates in the execution of manufacturing processes following quality, quantity, lead time, safety, and environmental rules. He/She performs a variety of routine and specialized tasks, prepares materials, reagents, and equipment, runs specialized laboratory tests and procedures and spreadsheets for which he/she has been adequately trained, and compiles data. He/She performs routine equipment and laboratory maintenance.
Key Accountabilities
Conducts manufacturing processes and laboratory tests according to approved instructions.
Operates a variety of laboratory equipment.
Compiles manufacturing data, performs the required calculations, and completes the corresponding manufacturing and testing records.
Maintains a clean, sanitary, and well-resourced work area in accordance with approved practices and regulations in place.
Follows strict laboratory, quality, safety, and environmental procedures according to regulations in place.
Under the supervision of their manager and with the support—if needed—of other colleagues, can collaborate in the transfer and set up of new processes and systems.
Participates in activities related to continuous improvement, 5S, and Lean Six-Sigma.
Networking / Key Relationships To be determined based on department needs, to include interactions such as:
Mainly with R&D, Quality, and Operations colleagues.
Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required
Education:
Required: Minimum Ciclo Formativo de Grado Medio in a Science or Health-related field, completed with experience in a chemical, biological, or health-related laboratory.
Degree may be substituted by relevant skills and work experience.
Valuable: Any additional degree higher than that required in the previous section.
Experience:
Depending on the type of laboratory in which the technician is placed, specific experience may be required in areas such as cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, lab automation, clinical analyzers, etc.
Additional Skills / Knowledge:
Software: User-level proficiency in Office Tools (Excel & Word). Basic knowledge of SAP is valuable.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish or Catalan. Basic knowledge of English (reading and speaking).
