Our client is a prominent multinational industrial group, a leader in the manufacture of high-quality glass solutions. In order to maximize operational performance, product quality, and the efficiency of its automatic manufacturing lines, they are seeking to incorporate a Department Head in charge of coordinating furnace operations, repairs, and reconstructions to obtain the highest possible glass quality
Job description:
We are seeking a Furnace Department Head . Under the guidelines of manufacturing management, the holder will respond directly to machine setups and the rigorous monitoring of production. The core mission is to ensure that the production process meets the demanding quality standards of the client, stabilizing yields above reference metrics, and technically leading the line personnel under their charge.
Responsibilities
Production Setup & Coordination: exhaustively analyze each model's dossier before starting the campaign, checking past incidents, toolings, and quality complaints. Prepare technical machine setup sheets, feeder conditioning, pushers, and transfers, coordinating change execution with area foremen and mechanics.
Process Monitoring & Parameters Control: define and verify compliance with critical variables during production startup, such as speeds, weights, glass temperatures, and lubrication procedures. Coordinate the plant team during setups to stabilize yields in the shortest time possible and with minimum material waste.
Continuous Improvement & Maintenance: monitor production deviations in real-time to implement appropriate adjustments and document final results by updating the historical manufacturing dossier. Propose and coordinate machinery corrective or preventive maintenance activities and lead the execution of new model trials on the line.
Safety & Team Development: foster the continuous technical progress of mechanics and machine operators through daily troubleshooting. Ensure strict compliance with risk prevention procedures and mandatory PPE usage in the manufacturing area.
Requirements:
Experience
Solid demonstrable experience in glass manufacturing industry, production tracking, machine setups, and implementing corrective actions (adjustments, tooling modifications) in a continuous manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in organizing, coordinating, and supervising technical teams on the shopfloor during production.
Education
University Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
Languages
Bilingual in Spanish.
Intermediate or advanced level of English is highly valued.
Competences
Strong analytical skills to evaluate production yields, operational incidents, and manufacturing defects.
Leadership and organizational capabilities to coordinate change cells, mechanics, and mold workshops during line interventions.
Deep technical knowledge of machine setups, feeder conditioning, and continuous improvement methodologies.
