About the client
We are working with a leading European specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the treatment of central nervous system disorders (CNS) currently seeking a IT Project and Portfolio Manager. The position is based in Barcelona and offers a hybrid work model.
Your Mission
Define, implement and operate a unified IT project and portfolio management model across all IT domains (Security, Systems, Functional Applications), ensuring consistent governance, execution excellence and transparency.
The role acts as the transversal layer that enables IT to deliver projects efficiently, predictably and aligned with business priorities, while also leading the hands-on operational management of projects where IT is involved.
Your Major Accountabilities
IT project and portfolio governance
Define and implement the IT Project Management framework (methodology, lifecycle, roles, templates and governance).
Establish portfolio-level governance to prioritize initiatives based on value, risk, capacity and strategic alignment.
Ensure consistent project execution standards across Security, Systems and Functional teams.
Define KPIs, reporting and dashboards to provide visibility on status, risks, dependencies and benefits.
Project execution and delivery
Act as Project Manager for transversal, complex or strategic initiatives involving multiple IT domains.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, on scope and within budget.
Manage project planning, execution, dependency management, risk and issue resolution.
Coordinate internal IT teams, external vendors and business stakeholders.
Operational PMO
Own and operate the day-to-day PMO activities (planning cycles, demand intake, project tracking, reporting).
Implement tools to support project and portfolio management (planning, tracking, reporting, resource management).
Ensure capacity planning and workload balancing across IT teams.
Drive continuous improvement of project management practices.
Business and stakeholder enablement
Act as the single point of reference for IT project management towards business stakeholders.
Translate business initiatives into structured IT projects and execution plans.
Facilitate decision-making by providing clear, data-driven insights on project status and trade-offs.
We Would Like You To Have
5+ years of experience in IT project management or PMO roles.
Proven experience managing complex, multi-stream IT projects.
Experience defining and implementing project management frameworks and PMOs.
Strong background working with cross-functional IT teams (Security, Infrastructure, Applications).
Experience interacting with senior stakeholders and executive committees.
Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration or similar.
Project Management certification is highly valued (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum, SAFe).
Availability to travel.
Languages: English fluent; Spanish and German desirable.
