Job Summary
Under direction of the immediate supervisor, the Lab Technician I participates in the execution of laboratory experiments following quality, safety, and environmental rules. He/She performs a variety of tasks, prepares materials, reagents, and equipment, runs laboratory tests and procedures for which he/she has been adequately trained. He/She performs routine equipment and laboratory maintenance.
Key Accountabilities
Must demonstrate good understanding of laboratory procedures and methods that are applicable to this position.
Conducts the activities associated with laboratory procedures as required by his/her supervisor.
Compiles testing data, performs the required calculations and complete the corresponding manufacturing and testing records.
Operates a variety of general and specialized laboratory equipment.
Initiates purchase requisitions for laboratory supplies as needed according to established procedures.
Keep that the laboratory is well-stocked and resourced.
Maintains a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures.
Follows strict laboratory quality, safety, and environmental procedures according to regulations in place.
Participates in activities related to continuous improvement, 5S and Lean Six-Sigma.

Minimum Knowledge & Experience required for the position:
• Education:
o Required: Ciclo Formativo de Grado Medio in Science or Health-related field, completed with experience in chemical, biological, or health-related laboratory
o Degree may be substituted by relevant skills and work experience
o Valuable: Any additional degree higher than that required in the previous section
• Experience:
o Depending on the type of laboratory to which the technician is going to be placed, specific experience may be required in topics like: cell culture, molecular biology, biochemistry, lab automation, clinical analyzers...
• Additional Skills/Knowledge:
o Software: Fluency in Office Tools (Excel & Word), Valuable Basic knowledge in SAP
o Language: Fluency in Spanish or Catalan. Basic knowledge of English (reading and speaking)
