Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Planning Manager, the Production Planning Specialist plays a key role in managing production planning across the entire manufacturing process — from raw materials and packaging through intermediate and finished products.
The position’s main objective is to ensure optimal stock levels at every stage, guaranteeing customer demand is met on time and in full, while maintaining a balanced and efficient use of manufacturing capacity and minimizing production costs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the annual master production plan.
- Prepare and review short- and mid-term production schedules for sub-assemblies and finished goods.
- Ensure production plans align with customer order commitments and delivery timelines.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels for raw materials, components, and packaging to support production continuity.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to the production plan, adjusting as necessary to meet targets.
- Balance production and quality control capacities to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Identify capacity constraints, set priorities, and propose corrective actions when required.
- Conduct forecast variation analysis and participate in quarterly coordination meetings with the planners.
- Lead weekly supply chain review meetings to track and resolve service-level issues.
- Coordinate regular follow-up meetings with manufacturing teams.
- Support planning activities related to business growth, including new product launches and projects.
- Oversee stock levels and manage the ATG budget (expired, surplus, or scrapped materials) for assigned items.
- Maintain and improve SAP master data related to planning.
- Update and document planning procedures.
- Drive and implement continuous improvement initiatives within the planning function.
- Assist the Planning Manager with budget preparation and performance monitoring for the department.
Budget Responsibility
Yes – responsible for managing ATG-related budgets within assigned product scope.
Key Internal Relationships
The role involves close collaboration with multiple departments, including Manufacturing, QRA, Operational Excellence, Finance, Marketing, Product Transfer, and R&D, as well as strong teamwork with Supply Chain functions such as Customer Service, Procurement, Logistics, and Warehouse.

Education & Experience
- Education:
- Required: Higher Vocational Training (Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior) in a field related to supply chain or production planning.
- Preferred: University degree or equivalent higher education.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in a similar planning or supply chain role.
Additional Requirements
- Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word); advanced SAP knowledge highly valued.
- Languages: Fluent in Spanish or Catalan, with advanced English (spoken and written).
- Other: Experience in demand planning and Lean environments considered an asset.
