About the client:
An international pharmaceutical group dedicated to investigation, development, production and commercialization of innovative medicines is looking for a Category Buyer in Barcelona.
Job main goals:
As a Category Buyer (CB), you will join our team and manage the organization's procurement needs. You will be responsible for assigned indirect categories, optimizing the supplier portfolio, generating cost/cash savings, and maintaining and improving the quality of data used for spend analysis and reporting to the company with a strong focus on sustainability issues.
Key responsibilities:
- You will be responsible for technical aspects of keeping procurement applications systems available as well as configuring the applications to meet the business needs, and accountable for suppliers’ evaluation & purchase category (mostly indirect), ensuring that all purchased products and services meet specifications and ensure compliance with ESG standards.
- Prepare, control and issue purchase orders and agreements, monitor supplier qualifications process and support the implementation of sourcing strategies.
Tasks:
- Analyse procurement data, highlighting risks and reporting, administer spend classification and view/report Spend classification by work area.
- Evaluate the performance of suppliers and service providers to ensure that they meet sustainability criteria, including respect for human rights and environmental standards.
- Monitor “supply chain” and contract performance throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Presentation of data to procurement team and wider stakeholder network.
- Work on process improvement and data management within the space of procurement analytics.
- Develop supplier KPI and risk management tools/reports in conjunction with Finance/Supply Team.
- Generate cost and cash savings following Procurement strategy & objectives.
- Responsible for creating a suite of KPIs/dashboards/Reports on assigned categories.
- Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
- Track and identify trends and best practices to improve sustainability in purchasing.
Skills:
- Proven experience in Category Management or similar role (5 years).
- Master’s degree in Purchasing or business administration or related field preferred.
- Experience in vendor management & negotiation.
- Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies and analytical tools.
- Understand about sustainable policies and ESG strategies.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, Teamwork.
- Analytical mindset & Strong MS Excel skills to create reports, tools etc monitor KPI performance
Preferred skills:
- Experience in an analytical role requiring data analysis skill sets, and the creation of KPIs/Reports (with a focus on Sustainability).
- Proficiency in data analysis & MS Excel skills - Pivot table, VLOOKUP, Graphs, Charts.
- Candidate will have to start his career in operational procurement and sustainability data treatment
- Languages: ideally English, French or Portuguese. Spanish is mandatory.
